Elgin L. “Spud” Garrison, 83 years old of Phil Campbell, AL passed away February 8, 2018 at Russellville Hospital.
Spud retired from the City of Sheffield. He was a jack-of-all-trades and entrepreneur. He enjoyed fishing, fast cars, and gambling. More than that, he loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 11th, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00pm at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, AL, followed by a service at 2:00 pm, presided by David Motes. The burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.
Elgin was born January 10, 1935 to Willie Veto and Eulious Orene Garrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Lisa Irene, his brothers, Douglas J. and Charles “Dee”, and his grandparents, Silas and Mandy Garrison and Evie Dickson.
Elgin is survived by the mother of his children, Annie Marie Garrison; his children and their spouses: Anna and Donald Pierce, Royce Garrison, and Heath and Daniele Garrison; his grandchildren: Stacey Stanford, Scott Pierce, Brandon Garrison and (Brittany Hammock), Brittany Garrison, Jannabeth Garrison, and Jessie Garrison; his great-grandchildren: Atticus Garrison, and Dalton Penney; his sisters: Faye Baker (Bobby) and Kathy Hutcheson (Wyatt).
