Travis Thelton McAlister

Travis “Doug” Thelton McAlister, 78 years old of Phil Campbell, AL. passed away January 14, 2018 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11 am – 2 pm at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, AL. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the Chapel with Bro. Greg Walker officiating. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery. 

Doug was born May 2, 1939 in Franklin County, AL. to Travis and Dovie McAlister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives; Norine McAlister and E. Lois Scott McAlister, his sister; Fayrene Wilson, his uncle; Clyde McAlister, his daughters; Mary Fuller and Ashley McAlister, his niece; Merita Cole, and his nephew; Ray Wilson.

Doug is survived by his children; Tony McAlister (Vicki), Sandy Parker, Lucy James (Michael), Vickie McAlister, Tina Ortiz, Becky White, and Baretta Saint, his brother; Olan McAlister (Betty), his grandchildren; Kristie McAlister, LaChea Ganger (Boyd), Brett Saint, Ryan Saint, Stephen McAlister (Leah), Tasha Frizzell (Allen), Craig Saint, Kody Ortiz (Jessie), Kendra Ward (Jake), Kara Campbell, Summer White, Cameron Reynoso, Joshua James, Chasity Baker, several great grandchildren, a host of great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Hudean Wilson, Stephen McAlister, Brett Saint, Ryan Saint, Joshua James, and Cameron Reynoso.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bea Borden and Kody Ortiz.
