Freeman Harvey Scott, 78 years old of Russellville, AL. passed away at his home August 9, 2022.

Visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2022 from 6 until 9 pm at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, AL. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Lindsey cemetery, Hackleburg, AL.

He was born November 28, 1943, in Franklin County, AL.

Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, Newman and Thelmer Scott; his wife, Joann Scott; siblings, Alonzo Scott, Lano Scott, Alvis Scott, Judy Scott, and Doris Castle; his son, Richard Glenn Copeland; his grandsons, Ethan Knox and Kagen Sutton.

He is survived by his children, Dean Copeland, Jean Wallace, Martha Townsend, Dewayne Scott (Lillian), Rena Ussery, and Paul Scott (Megan); siblings, Billy Joe Scott (Joann) and Raymond “Buddy” Scott (Trina); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and special nieces and nephews, Melvin, Shelia, Carlos, and Joey.

Pallbearers will be Colby, Joey, Eddie, Kevin, J.J., Logan, Eric, Joseph, Abe, Chad, Roger, and Moe.
