James "Buddy" Jones Obituary

James “Buddy” Edward Jones, 73 of Russellville, AL

Buddy as he was called by his family and loved ones was born December 15, 1946, and died November 3, 2020.  Buddy is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Linda Hester Jones; his son James David Jones and wife Laura; grandchildren Alex Jones, Abby Jones, and their mother Karen Dempsey Jones; grandson Joel Jones and granddaughter Katy Jones.  He is also survived by his brother in law Billy Williamson; Sisters-in-Laws Donna and Cynthia Hester; and his beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends and love ones. 

Buddy is preceded in death by his son, Michael Wayne Jones; parents George and Flossie McKinney Jones; brothers William and Raymond (Dessie) Jones; Infant sister Ada Mae Jones, and sister Betty Jane Williamson; brother-in-laws Tony and Donnie Joe Hester. 

 

Buddy was a member and deacon of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church.  Buddy was on the executive committee of the Big Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association.  Buddy was a member of the Russellville Masonic Lodge 371.  

 

Buddy’s favorite verse of scripture was Jeremiah 9:24. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

 

Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2020 at Knights of Pythias Cemetery with Bro. Keith Prince officiating. The family asks anyone attending to please practice social distancing and wear a mask.
