Johnny Lee Borden

Johnny Lee Borden, 88 years old of Russellville, AL. passed away July 11, 2021 at his home.   

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Johnny was born January 27, 1933, in Mississippi to Oscar and Bessie Borden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Talmadge “Tom” Borden, Roe Borden, Arvis Borden, Herbert “Boots” Borden, Charles Borden, Eva Borden, Marie Berry, and Catherine Benson; his son, Michael Borden; and his great grandson, Caden Yates.

Johnny is survived by his children, Caroline Byerley (Ricky), Paula Miller, Stephen Borden (Alicia), Sabrina Simpson (Derrick), Johnny Allen (Sarah), and David Bostic; his siblings, Barbara Kennedy, Mac, Paul, and Franklin Borden; his sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carrigan Simpson, you did more than your fair share to help me with your pawpaw and he loved you so much.  He told me you were his special lady and you meant a lot to him. Thank you baby for everything and I couldn’t have done it without you.  Also a special thanks to Akins Funeral Home for being there when I need them and going above and beyond to help my family in their time of need.
