Madie L (Hill) Stancil

Madie Hill Stancil, 91 years old of Decatur, AL., formerly of Hackleburg, AL. passed away June 22, 2021, surrounded by her family.  

Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, AL. Funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with, Bro. Bobby Stancil officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Madie was born March 6, 1930, in Franklin County, Alabama to Robert “Ed” and Belle Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcolm “Fritz” Stancil; her brothers, Alvin Hill (Uvena), Lucian Hill, R.C. Hill (Frances), Melvin Hill (Hazel), Clyde Hill (Lavona), and Dewey Hill (Alice); and her sisters, Donie Welborn (Homer), Alton Elrod (Royce), Lucille McCarley (Zelmer), and Verda Lawler.

Madie is survived by her daughter Doris Stancil Fleming (L.V.); her sister, Ruby Nell Cochran; her sister-in-law, Hazel Hill; her two grandchildren, Tammy Tomlinson (Jay) and Bridget Troup; her great grandchildren, Sara Seibert (Dan) and Fleming Belle Troup; and her great-great grandchildren, Stratton, Grayson, Caroline Seibert.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
